Police have been given extra time to question two men over a fatal stabbing in Greater Manchester. Kevin Platt, 30, of Kearsley, was found on Friday night with stab wounds by police officers on patrol in Church Road, Farnworth. He died in hospital.
Officers have been granted more time to question two men, aged 20 and 19, arrested on suspicion of murder.
Mr Platt was one of three men to be fatally stabbed in unconnected attacks on Friday night and Saturday morning.
'Devastating' crimes
Another man, 22-year-old Stephen Parkin was stabbed outside the Premier Lodge on Stockport Road, Hattersley, in the early hours of Saturday.
Mr Parkin, from Hyde, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Seven people were arrested, aged between 17 and 25, and questioned on suspicion of his murder but later released on bail pending further inquiries.
The force is also investigating a third fatal stabbing in the Moss Side area of the city early on Saturday morning.
The 24-year-old man died in hospital following an incident at the Moss Side Community Centre on Westwood Street. He has yet to be identified.
Ass Ch Con Ian Seabridge, of Greater Manchester Police, said the incidents highlighted the "devastating" nature of knives.
