A billboard appealing for help to trace the killers of Jessie James has been erected near the spot where he was gunned down in Manchester. The poster features three photographs of Jessie at various stages in his life and the slogan: "Make My Christmas Wish Come True... Catch My Killers".
It has been posted on Moss Lane East in Moss Side, metres away from Broadfield Park where the 15-year-old was killed.
Officers hope the huge poster will jog someone's conscience.
Sad Christmas
Det Supt Tony Cook, leading the investigation, said: "We are hoping that this festive time of year will encourage someone to come forward with further information about Jessie's murder.
"This is a time when families are getting together to celebrate, but for Jessie's family Christmas will be incredibly sad this year.
"While we are continuing to receive a steady stream of information about Jessie's murder, we still need some vital details in order to catch the person responsible.
"I would urge anyone who has any information, even if it seems to be insignificant, to contact us."
Vital witnesses
Mr Cook said all information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
"One family is already having to suffer Christmas without a loved one, please don't let the people who killed Jessie be free to do this to another family," he added.
The idea is one of a number of initiatives that Greater Manchester Police are using to trace Jessie's killers, almost three months on from his death.
The force has already posted the eulogy read by his mother Barbara Reid, on popular video website, YouTube.
Last month, 20,000 leaflets were distributed to schoolchildren urging them to stay safe and appealing for information on the murder.
Officers are still trying to trace vital witnesses to the shooting and those who could have information about his killers.
