Hundreds of people are planning to protest outside Salford's Hope Hospital over the planned closure of maternity units across Greater Manchester. Almost 40,000 people have joined the campaign signing petitions to save the wards at Hope, Fairfield Hospital in Bury and at Trafford and Rochdale.
Unison members will join with members of the public to protest outside the hospital gates on Eccles Old Road.
Denise Bradshaw from Unison is calling for the Government to intervene.
"The closure of the maternity and neo natal provision at Hope will mean that there are no more babies born and cared for in Salford, and that staff who provide an invaluable service to this community will lose their jobs," she said.
Plans to rearrange maternity services are part of Greater Manchester Strategic Health Authority's (SHA) Making it Better strategy.
The demonstration will take place between 1100 GMT and 1500 GMT.
