The six-hour journey includes a full commentary

The cruise ships make six-hour trips between Liverpool's Pier Head and Salford Quays, providing commentary on the history of the 35-mile waterway.

Operator Mersey Ferries said more than 15,200 passengers had taken the �32 cruises so far in 2006.

The firm said it plans to provide more cruises in the future.

Cllr Mark Dowd, Chair of Merseytravel, said: "The cruises are one of the jewels in the Mersey Ferries' crown and to reach 15,000 passengers is a major milestone.

"The demand we've had for the cruises this year has been excellent and it just keeps growing."

The Mersey Ferries have had multi-million pound refits and are equipped with a bar and food area.
