Mourners are set to gather on 24 October for the funeral of teenager Jessie James who was shot dead in Manchester in September.

Friends and family will attend a service to celebrate the 15-year-old's life in Broadfield Park, Moss Side, close to where he was killed.

He will later be buried in the city's Southern Cemetery.

Jessie died from two bullets to his torso and one to his appendix - police are still hunting his killer.

The youngster, who lived in Greame Street, Moss Side, and attended the nearby Manchester Academy High School, was killed on 9 September.

His death came less than three months after 45-year-old Ernest Gifford was shot at home on the same street.

In August three men were shot and wounded in two separate incidents in other parts of Moss Side.
