Shayne Ward needs an operation on throat nodules |
Two performers due to appear at this year's Blackpool Illuminations switch-on have had to pull out for health reasons. Shayne Ward and Goldfrapp will not be on the bill, said a spokeswoman for Blackpool Council.
Last year's X Factor winner Ward is due for throat nodule surgery in the US while Goldfrapp lead singer Alison Goldfrapp is suffering from exhaustion.
The council spokeswoman said Heather Small would replace Goldfrapp.
The council spokeswoman said Alison Goldfrapp had been told to pull out on the advice of doctors.

Radio 2 and Blackpool Council have yet to reveal who will switch the lights on this year.
