MP meets NHS trust's consultants
North Manchester General Hospital
North Manchester is one of four acute hospitals run by the trust
An MP was due to meet consultants who work for a heavily criticised NHS trust on Monday.

Paul Rowen, who represents Rochdale, has called for the managers at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust to resign.

Mr Rowen will discuss a report, which last week made 25 recommendations for change, with the trust's consultants.

The trust covers North Manchester General Hospital, Bury's Fairfield Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary and Royal Oldham Hospital.

The independent report, by Professor Sir George Alberti and Doctor Joan Durose, was commissioned by Greater Manchester Strategic Health Authority after consultants and senior doctors passed a vote of no confidence in managers.

Manchester Blackley MP, Graham Stringer, and David Heyes, Ashton MP, have already called for the trust to be made smaller to make it easier to run.
