Town's Monopoly game goes on sale
Monopoly board
Players can buy JJB Sports, Wigan Athletic or the Pier
A game of Monopoly is going on sale on Friday, but instead of Park Lane and Old Kent Road, players will compete for Wigan Athletic and Pennington Flash.

The Greater Manchester town of Wigan beat North West rivals, Bolton and Preston, in an online poll.

The game also includes a space for rugby league club, Wigan Warriors, which will be on sale for a mere 180.

Players can also snap up the Uncle Joe's Mint Ball's factory, Haigh Hall, JJB Sports and Wigan Pier.

The game, made by Hasbro, has gone on sale just in time for Christmas.

Wigan, famous for its cloth-cap image, was chosen in the competition to celebrate the game's 70th birthday.

Other versions of the game are available including Manchester, Liverpool, Swansea, Birmingham, Glasgow and Bristol.
