Money raised will go to the Christie Against Cancer appeal |
More than 3,000 cyclists were riding across Manchester and Lancashire on Sunday to raise money for a world-famous cancer hospital. The ride aims to beat the 200,000 raised last year for the Christie Hospital, in Withington, Manchester.
Many of the cyclists wore fancy dress for the ride from Manchester to Blackpool.
The 60-mile route takes in Leigh, Haigh Hall, Eccleston, Preston and Kirkham before finishing at Stanley Park.
This year's ride is the 18th time the event has taken place.
Cyclists left Albert Square, Manchester, at 15 minute intervals from 0730 BST to 0915 BST and were expected to arrive between 1100 BST and 1600 BST.
