The trial of a boxing promoter accused of blackmailing Wayne Rooney's agent has been adjourned for legal argument. John Hyland, 42, from Woolton, Liverpool, is charged with one count of blackmailing Paul Stretford, owner of the Proactive Sports Group.
Mr Hyland and brothers Christopher and Anthony Bacon, 34 and 38, all deny blackmail by demanding money with menaces at Warrington Crown Court.
Judge David Hale told the jury to return on Thursday morning.
