The 47-year-old Texan was due to unveil the new site, fashionnw.com, at Manchester Art Gallery on Wednesday.

Local design companies such as Felix Blow will have the chance to showcase their designs on the catwalk.

The website aims to unite the North West's fashion and textile industries, to provide a one-stop reference point.

More than 150 guests representing the region's most influential fashion and textile companies are expected to attend the launch.

Bill Mills, Director of NWTexnet said, "The North West is already home to an exceptional fashion and textile industry.

"This site will promote the region's ability, providing a fast moving network for fashion and textile businesses."
