Car breakthrough in murder case
The suspect Volkswagen Scirocco car
The car was seen circling the area
Detectives say they have made a breakthrough in the hunt for the killers of a 15-year-old schoolboy.

Adam Regis was stabbed to death in Plaistow, east London, in March as he returned from a night out.

Police said they have now narrowed down the VW Scirocco car two suspects were seen getting into after the killing, to just 200 of its kind in the country.

Fourteen people have been arrested over the murder, with five bailed and nine released without charge.

Det Ch Insp Matthew Horne said: "I am confident the net is closing in on those who killed Adam.

Forensic techniques

"Through the latest forensic techniques, I believe the Scirocco concerned is one vehicle in less than two hundred."

CCTV footage released in June showed two young men getting into a nearby mark II Scirocco car minutes after the murder.

The surveillance images also captured a gang of five circling the Upton Park area in the car.

Officers have announced a reward of 20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killers.
