Arsenal fans sold hallowed turf
Highbury Stadium
The club is auctioning icons of its Highbury past
Nearly 5,000 Arsenal fans have secured a piece of their club's hallowed turf from the now defunct Highbury Stadium.

They will pick up their one square foot of football history, worth 25, at the north London stadium on Tuesday.

Arsenal is scheduled to move into its new 60,000-seat Emirates Stadium in Ashburton Grove in August.

Other memorabilia including the Highbury scoreboard will be among some 500 iconic objects auctioned by the club on 29 July.

The items are symbols of the club's 93-year history at Highbury stadium.

Highbury, which has listed buildings, will be converted into homes.
