Driver reinstated after sacking
Tube train
Strike action was threatened over the sacking
The threat of strike action on the Tube has been averted after a sacked driver was reinstated.

Brian Munro was dismissed on Tuesday after allegedly intimidating staff who tried to cross a picket line during a pay strike in June.

He won the appeal against the dismissal, which was heard on Thursday.

Mr Munro was back working on the Bakerloo line 41 hours after being sacked. A London Underground spokesman said he had been given a final warning.

The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) official was represented at the appeal by Bob Crowe, the union's general secretary.

He said: "It is quite clear that London Underground had gone way over the top and our executive had been on standby to open a ballot for strike action had this victimisation been allowed to stand."
