Deaf ravers mark carnival start
New Year's Eve deaf rave
Sign language rappers perform at a deaf rave
More than 1,000 deaf people are expected to feel the music at an all-night rave which marks the start of the Notting Hill Carnival.

Organisers say the bass will be turned up for party-goers at the Ocean in Hackney, East London, so they can move with the vibrations.

The Deaf Rave Carnival Experience also features sign comedy, MCs and rappers, dancers and breakdancers.

The party starts at 2000 BST and runs until 0600 BST on Saturday.

Troi Lee, one of the Deaf Rave orgnisers, said deaf people would be able to enjoy the party in different ways.

He said: "Everybody has different hearing loss so there are people like me that can hear quite well and there's others who can't hear at all so they're more into feeling the bass and the vibrations of it.

"It's essential for deaf people to feel the music. It's not about listening, it's feeling the music and embracing the bass lines.

"They've put a mega sound system in at Ocean and they're going to feel it for real!"
