Superbike rider seriously injured

A motorbike rider is critically ill after a Bank Holiday crash at the British Superbike championship meeting at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.

James Dye, from Horsham in Sussex, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Hull Royal Infirmary.

According to a Radio Lincolnshire reporter, two riders collided on the first lap of the Supersport race on Monday.

Hospital staff said Mr Dye was in a critical condition.

David Paton, the other rider involved in the collision, suffered minor injuries.
