A Lincolnshire ale is heading east after a brewery agreed an export deal with Russia. Bateman's Brewery based at Wainfleet All Saints has signed a contract with trading company Stolichnaya, which will see four of its ales exported.
The brewer's XXXB, Victory Ale, Combined Harvest and Autumn Fall ales will be sold as part of the deal.
Managing director Stuart Bateman said English beer had been popular in the country for around 10 years.
"The Russian population have been starved of choice and quality goods for a number of years.
"They've been drinking English beers for around 10 years now but they seem to have become a lot more discerning, they want to go up in strength, flavour and quality all of a sudden, so the response we've had so far is absolutely tremendous," he said.
