Town wants to be all-year resort
The future of Skegness is as a year-round tourist attraction, officials have said.

New projects to promote the resort for a full 12 months are being worked on by both the council and local businesses.

The Mayor of Skegness Brian O'Connor has backed the idea, and said the town needed to broaden its horizons.

While the traditional 'bucket and spade' holiday was still a core activity the resort could become a base for exploring the area, he said.

Many towns attract visitors for winter weekends by having more attractions which can be open all year and by advertising attractions which are nearby, the council said.
