Seaside pool restoration starts
The chosen option for the Fairy Dell pool
How the Fairy Dell pool is expected to look
Work to restore a well-known paddling pool in Skegness has begun.

The Fairy Dell was closed in autumn 2004 after water quality problems were discovered, but 4,000 people signed a petition asking for it to be reopened.

More than 800 people responded to a council survey asking how the pool should be refurbished in 2005.

A spokesperson from East Lindsey District Council said the restoration would cost about 250,000 and be completed by May.

The council confirmed the pool would be restored with its existing fountain and a new bridge.

Plans also include an access ramp to the main pool, a new pool surround and a refurbished shelter.
