Operation waits reduced in county
Waiting lists for operations in Lincolnshire are down to six months or less - according to hospital managers.

Last year more than 400 people waited longer than six months.

But recent figures have shown the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust carried out non-emergency surgery, within half a year on 8,500 patients.

Lincoln County Hospital director Peter Howie, said it was a great achievement given the recent difficulties faced by Lincolnshire's health service.

"We have to work within our limited resources and we have to maintain a national target and expectations at the same time," he said.

"So within very difficult circumstances we are pleased that we have been able to achieve all of our other targets and recognising that that is causing us financial problems still."
