Hospital staff oppose suspension
Hospital staff protesting at the suspension of Paul Lewis
Protesters say the investigation has taken too long
More than 100 hospital workers have protested at the continued suspension of a member of staff.

A&E manager Paul Lewis was suspended after saying lives were being put at risk because of cuts in his department at Grantham Hospital in Lincolnshire.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust said the length of their inquiry would depend on witness availability.

Mr Lewis' s supporters have argued that the Trust is taking too long to investigate the matter.

After Friday's protest, Lincoln County and South Kesteven District councillor Mark Williams said: "If the management at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust cannot manage an investigation of this nature in eight weeks, then it's no wonder we're seven million pounds in the red."

Mr Lewis was suspended in October.
