Period house restoration success
Restoration work on four houses in a Lincolnshire town, dating back to the late 1600s, is about to be completed.

A team from Heritage Trust of Lincolnshire, have been working on the properties on Bridge Street in Horncastle for just under a year.

They have been backed by the Heritage Lottery Fund to restore the buildings to a high standard.

The trust said the 800,000 project has helped improve the look of the town and supported local businesses.

The buildings will be sold and any profit made will be reinvested in other projects.

David Start from the trust said: "Not only does it renew and preserve a fabulous building but it brings money into the county which employs plumbers and electricians.

"So it is both an economic success as well as a heritage one - it's a joint package."
