Angry councillors are set to write to Lincolnshire's highways managers protesting about a lack of solid plans to solve Boston traffic problems. They say the county's new five-year transport plan is "vague".
Joyce Dobson, leader of Boston Borough Council, will write on behalf of the authority outlining local frustration.
She and fellow councillors are disappointed at the lack of reference to a Boston bypass, or even a so-called urban distributor road.
Lincolnshire highways managers have always stressed they will not put forward any schemes for Boston until a traffic study, due to start in spring, has been completed.
There has been a long-running campaign to take the A16 and A52 traffic out of town.
Boston is one of the few towns in the county to suffer with congestion as most have some form of bypass or relief road.
