Wind turbine plans pulled by firm
Campaigners against a wind farm in Lincolnshire are celebrating after a company withdrew its application.

Renewable Energy Systems had planned to install up to 34 wind turbines at Nocton Fen, near Lincoln.

The firm said it had decided the site was unsuitable, and would now concentrate on looking for alternative sites instead.

People opposed to the proposals had feared it could have impacted on wildlife in the area.

The company said it carried out a series of studies, including ecological surveys commissioned from independent experts, and they had highlighted the fact that the site was "unsuitable."

Among the issues raised was the impact on birds and Ministry of Defence issues.
