Archaeology centre set to close
Councillors in Lincoln look likely to sanction the closure of the city's archaeology centre.

The centre has been the shop window for the activities of the archaeology department of Lincoln City Council for the last 15 years.

Now they will be in a new art gallery and museum, known as The Collection, next to the Usher Art Gallery.

The city's archaeology officer Mick Jones said the new location is better than the old one.

He felt it would give more space for activities and show a greater range of exhibits.
