Warning given over winter weather
Education and highways officials in Lincolnshire are preparing for severe weather forecast for early next week.

The county could be hit by sub-zero winds as well as sleet and snow storms.

School pupils are due back at their desks after the half term holiday on Monday and there are concerns the "school run" could be affected.

The county council said schools will stay open if possible but parents should check the forecast and always put safety first.

Stuart Christie, from the council's Highways Department, said: "All I can say is that if the bad weather does come, we need the public to decide whether they really should travel.

"The less vehicles we have on the road the easier it is for us to deal with the consequences of the weather."
