Harsh action will be taken against people who attack paramedics, Lincolnshire Ambulance Service warned. It comes after a man from Grimsby was fined this week for trying to punch a member of a staff.
Since April 2004 there have been more than 60 violent incidents reported by paramedics in the county.
The Ambulance Service says such incidents will not be tolerated. They will gather evidence of attacks and offenders will be prosecuted.
Pub fights
Recorded attacks involve verbal and physical abuse.
From April 2003 to April 2004 there were 90 incidents. Twenty-three were physical assaults and one involved a weapon.
Most attacks are related to drink or drugs and happen when paramedics are called to fights at pubs and clubs.
Last November the new ambulances were fitted with CCTV cameras to help tackle the problem.
