Ambulance managers say lives are being put at risk in Lincs as people continue to abuse the 999 emergency service. Calls over Christmas included people wanting a lift home and a man locked out of his hotel room asking to be taken to alternative accommodation.
New Year's Eve is the ambulance service's busiest night of the year.
Staff dealt with over 1,800 calls over Christmas, but 40% were not considered real emergencies. Paramedics urge people to only make urgent call on 999.
They say the NHS Direct phone line should be the first point of contact for non-urgent medical problems.
Managers say people would be shocked by some of the calls they get.
They include drunken revellers wanting a lift home and people dialling 999 because they are not dressed for the cold weather.
