Action call on 'nuisance' bikers
Motorcyclists branded "a nuisance" have prompted residents in Lincolnshire to call for action.

An informal meeting of North Hykeham Town Council was told of a number of incidents in which off-road bikers raced in fields behind homes.

Residents complained about the noise, while safety concerns were raised over riders not wearing helmets.

The meeting was told that the most popular sites for bikers were the fields off Mill Hill Lane.

Safety issues

Jill Wilson, chair of the town council's crime and disorder group, said she sometimes heard the "drone" of motorcycles in a nearby field.

"I would only imagine people who live alongside the fields are quite affected by the noise," she said.

Thirteen residents attended the meeting to discuss the problem.

"As a council we are concerned about the safety issues of the young people and the old people who might meet them on the roads or the pavements." said Ms Wilson.
