Festival to help skate park drive
Skateboarders
Skates in Lincoln get ready for a two-day festival.
Hundreds of skateboarders and BMX riders are expected at Lincoln's first urban sports festival over the weekend.

The two-day event, inside the castle grounds, will include competitions, demonstrations, and workshops.

It is being organised by the Lincoln Skate Park Project, which is pushing for permanent facilities in the city.

Skaters will be able to try out specially built ramps and boards and organiser hope this will highlight the huge demand for a skate park.

There will also be BMX demonstrations, workshops and band performances.

Management at the castle cobbled the Westgate entrance to stop people using it as an unofficial skate park.
