Jobs uncertainty after dock sale
A 5m deal has been struck for the sale of Boston docks - but it is not clear whether or not jobs will be affected.

The Port of Boston has been sold by the owner Ashtenne to Plymouth-based firm the Victoria Group.

The company owns four other commercial ports and says the deal means Boston docks has a successful future.

Managers from Victoria have been in meetings at Boston during Tuesday and it is not yet clear whether or not there will be any job losses.

Ashtenne said it wanted to sell the port as it no longer fitted in with its plans for the future.

A spokesman for Boston Borough Council welcomed the change of ownership and said the port was of both local and regional importance.
