Road safety officers in Lincolnshire say the high number of road deaths this year has made them more determined than ever. Eight people have died on the county's roads in the past week alone.
The latest death occurred at 0327 BST on Saturday on the Hackthorne Road in Welton near Lincoln.
A man died when the Citroen Saxo he was travelling in swerved to avoid an animal and went off the road.
'Some improvements'
It brings the number of people killed on the roads so far this year to 75.
The Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership is sure they can reduce the number of casualties.
Grev Burgess from the group said: "Although far too many people have died on our roads this year, when you look at that number and compare it to three or four years ago we have made some improvements.
"It's still not good enough and more has to be done and we believe we can do that."
