Virtual world gives crime advice
Crime prevention website
Officers said they hoped the service would be more accessible
Crime prevention advice has moved into the virtual world thanks to a new service from Leicestershire Police.

The force's website now features an interactive, computer-generated world full of information about how to make life safer and more secure.

A virtual landscape contains five zones featuring advice on personal, vehicle, home, business and vehicle security.

Officers said they hoped the service would make accessing the information easier and more interesting.

Pc Brian Voss, Leicester Police's Crime Reduction Officer, said, "We already provide relevant and useful crime reduction advice on our website, but it can seem a little wordy.

"With the addition of the Virtual Neighbourhood we are able to provide crime reduction advice in a much more interesting and interactive way."
