Warning after spate of burglaries
Residents in an area of Leicester are being warned to be vigilant after a recent spate of burglaries.

Police in the New Parks area say there have been 35 burglaries reported over a 60-day period.

Officers said residents needed to be extra careful in the run-up to Christmas, especially with presents in the house.

Patrols using officers in plain clothes and door-to-door inquires are being carried out.

Pc Dave Martin from Leicestershire Police said: "We have the dedicated use of CCTV and neighbourhood watch to ask our residents to be cautious, but would ask everyone to ensure their property is left secure and do not leave valuables on display."

If anyone had information about the recent spate of burglaries they should contact the police as soon as possible, he added.
