Recycling dispute goes to meeting
A public meeting is to be held for people to discuss plans for a recycling centre in a Leicestershire town.

Glenfield Waste Ltd wants to consolidate its waste transfer and skip hire business.

Proposals for the site on Coventry Road, Narborough, have provoked opposition from nearby residents, including a 1,200 name petition.

The meeting is being held on 23 March and residents can hear details of the scheme and voice any concerns.

The proposal involves the erection of a new building, in which waste collected in the company's skips and containers would be sorted and redistributed to authorised sites.

The waste would be controlled by licence from the Environment Agency and could include dry household, commercial and industrial waste predominantly from the Leicester area.

The application is due to discussed by the county council on 20 April.
