Centre to boost recycling rates
A recycling transfer centre and depot is to be built in Leicestershire next year as part of a council's environmental improvement programme.

The facility will be used by North West Leicestershire Council's street cleaners, fly-tip removals and grounds maintenance staff.

The 855,000 depot will also allow for recyclable materials to be stored.

The new depot will be off Ashby Road in Coalville next to the county council's existing civic amenity site.

It is hoped this will help make the council's recycling more effective.

It is due to be operational in June 2006.
