Community asked to donate plots
Schools, community groups and small businesses in three counties are being asked to donate part of their land to become woodland.

The National Forest on the borders of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire is looking for patches of land on which to plant trees.

The company wants to count the smaller areas of land towards a goal of creating a 100-acre wood.

Anyone who joins the scheme will be responsible for tree maintenance.

In exchange for the land, up to 420 trees will be provided by the National Forest Company.

The company is responsible for managing the creation of the forest and is funded by Defra.
