An elderly woman in Leicestershire has had her life savings stolen in a distraction burglary. Police are appealing for information after the 81-year-old woman was robbed of 3,000 in cash from her home in Melton Mowbray.
The woman's brother-in-law answered the door on 27 October to a man who was selling plant pots.
When he left, he realised another man had entered the house and taken the money from his sister-in-law's bedroom.
Det Tim Lindley of Melton CID said: "This is a despicable crime and I urge people in the area to help us track down the men responsible by coming forward with information."
The woman shares the house with her 70-year-old brother-in-law.
Police said one of the suspects is white, in his late teens or early 20s, about 5ft 10ins tall, while the second is white, in his late 30s to early 40s and was wearing a khaki jacket.
The attack follows another distraction burglary in Blaby in early October in which an elderly couple were also robbed of their entire life savings.
