The long awaited replacement for Leicester's St Margaret's baths should be completed by the end of the month. The city council is due take charge later this week of the 10m Braunstone Leisure Centre, which includes two swimming pools, a gym and sports hall.
The centre was created as a replacement for Granby Halls and St Margaret's baths which closed four years ago.
After overcoming budget worries, it is expected to open to the public during the first week of December.
There had been concern that a funding crisis at the city council could delay the opening or mean the closure of other facilities.
