New recycling depot is announced
Recycling (generic)
The site will provide better facilities for residents
A new recycling centre is to be built in Loughborough at a cost of 1m.

Charnwood Borough Council officials have reassured residents there will be no increase in council tax to pay for the site on Railway Terrace.

Funding for the building which will replace current facilities has come from DEFRA.

It is being combined with a scheme to distribute wheelie bins to households across town in a bid to try and get more residents to recycle.

The depot is the biggest single recycling project in the Leicestershire town.

Officials hope it will encourage residents to think more about the environment.
