The lights were switched on in September |
Blackpool's famous illuminations are being switched off for the end of summer season. The historic display has lit up more than six miles of the Lancashire resort's promenade since September.
The lights have been a regular attraction since 1879, bringing in thousands of tourists to the resort each year.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach will hold a firework display to bring the curtain down on its full-time season.
This year the lights were switched on by TV and radio star Dale Winton while Bolton comedian Peter Kay performed at the ceremony.
The show also included live performances from The Zutons, Duncan James and Ronan Keating, and was broadcast live on BBC Radio 2.
The lights will go out at 2300 GMT.
