Four of Manchester United's famous players of the past have been reunited with some of the club's most significant artefacts.

Bill Foulkes, Alex Stepney, Pat Crerand and David Sadler paid a visit to the National Football Museum in Preston.

It has recently acquired an original 1950s ball and a memorial programme for the Munich air disaster, which Foulkes survived.

All four players were in the United team which won the 1968 European Cup.

They visited on Saturday to see the exhibitions and sign autographs for fans.

Mark Bushell from the museum said: "It will be great to meet up with David and Pat again as they are great friends of the museum.

"However, we now have a significant number of new Manchester United objects, that they have not had the opportunity to see the within our exhibitions, including George Best's 1968 European Footballer of the Year award."

An autograph book, signed by the great Busby Babes, is also included in the exhibits.

The National Football Museum was set up at Preston North End's ground in Deepdale in 2001, and entry to see more than 25,000 pieces of memorabilia is free to the public.
