Blackpool's new probation centre is being officially opened. The county's High Sheriff, former England football star Jimmy Armfield, was expected to open the centre on the Avroe Centre Business Park on Friday.
People given community orders will attend a range of programmes which get them to face up to their crimes and learn how to stay out of trouble.
Lancashire's target is for 453 offenders to have completed programmes by 31 March.
Chief probation officer, Bob Mathers, said he was "delighted" Mr Armfield would be finding out first hand how probation works to reduce crime.
