Airport terminal's 2m expansion
Blackpool Airport
Jet2 are planning more routes from Blackpool next year
Work to restructure the passenger terminal at Blackpool Airport is getting under way on Thursday.

The 2m refurbishment will see the main terminal extended to cope with a rise in the number of passengers passing through the airport.

Two new airlines are launching services from Blackpool this week.

Monarch Airlines will fly to Malaga in Spain and Jet2 are offering a service to Belfast, with services to Palma, Majorca and Murcia planned next year.

The low budget airline Jet2 created about 50 new jobs by setting up a base at the airport.
