Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay is backing Sal's Place |
A pioneering centre for abuse victims, which opened officially in May, has been nominated for a national award. Sal's Place, on St Leonardgate, Lancaster, is the first of its kind in Lancashire, giving female and male victims help under one roof.
It has already helped nearly 100 people and has now been shortlisted for a National Criminal Justice award.
The centre brings together police, social services, Victim Support, and Lancaster and District Women's Aid.
It provides a one stop shop for the victims of domestic violence and abuse.
The centre received celebrity backing earlier in the year from Coronation Street actress Sally Lyndsay whose character Shelley was a victim of domestic abuse in the soap.
