Casino plans attract big interest
Blackpool's Golden Mile
Blackpool would be transformed into a Las Vegas-style seaside resort
Blackpool Council has said that plans to build a hotel casino in the resort have attracted worldwide interest.

It revealed that 22 companies, including major players from Las Vegas and South Africa, responded to its deadline for written submissions.

The plans would involve building hotels, a conference centre and a regional casino on the Golden Mile.

Blackpool should know next year if it is to be awarded one of the "super casino" licences by the government.
