Blackpool wants to transform its downmarket image |
Proposals to turn Blackpool into a resort filed with Las Vegas-style casinos could become clearer on Wednesday when a report is published. A parliamentary select committee report into gaming is set to be made public and could form the blueprint for the town's plans.
The report, which is reviewing gaming laws in the UK, has been compiled by members of the Commons and Lords.
The town council believes large casino hotels could regenerate the resort.
It hopes they will be built along the town's famous Golden Mile.
The resort's family image has suffered in recent years with drunken stag and hen parties becoming more and more popular.
The council hopes the casino plans will transform the seaside resort into an international visitor destination.
