Several days of traffic disruption are likely after a water main burst for the second time in a month on a busy road in Kent. South East Water said temporary traffic lights would be in place for about three days on the A26 London Road, in Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells.
A spokeswoman said a different part of the main had been affected this time, but the pipe was being inspected.
One property suffered partial flooding to its grounds.
Unknown cause
The burst on the strategic main connected to a reservoir serving the Southborough and Rusthall areas was reported at about 0430 BST on Wednesday.
Several thousand properties lost their water supplies during the previous incident on 2 October, but the spokeswoman said there was no interruption on this occasion.
She added: "We isolated the burst main... temporary traffic lights are in situ at the moment so we can complete repairs and reinstate the road.
"It was the same main but in a slightly different place. The cause is currently unknown, but the main is now being reviewed for a possible replacement.
"South East Water would like to apologise to its customers for any inconvenience this may have caused, and also to commuters that may be using this route and be affected by the temporary traffic lights."
