People have been urged to make "full use" of their post offices and add their names to petitions against threatened closures. A Kent County Council (KCC) campaign is backing the local post office network.
Council leader Paul Carter said Kent was one of the first to go through a national review that would identify rural and urban branches for closure.
He said the move could lead to people paying to travel further and also make some people isolated and vulnerable.
The authority also fears if post offices close, other businesses nearby could suffer reduced trade, he added.
Mr Carter said: "We believe that Kent's communities cannot afford to lose their post offices, so we're doing everything we can to support the people of Kent and put their needs first.
"The message to residents is very simple: Use it or lose it."
