Managers of London Ashford Airport, at Lydd, will be discussing proposals for a runway extension and new terminal building at a meeting on Tuesday.

Residents have been invited to ask questions at the end of the meeting.

About �20m has been spent so far on upgrading the airport so that it could handle up to two million passengers a year by 2014.

Managing director of the airport, Zaher Deir, said the meeting was part of "extensive" consultation and would provide "up-to-date and clear information about every stage of the proposed development".

He said the planning process would be explained to residents, along with the likely schedule once draft proposals had been submitted to Shepway District Council.
